Stephen led the International and Development portfolio at Swinburne University, taking onshore international student revenue from $40m to $100m in five years.
Stephen and his team managed the relationship and led the contract renewal process for one of the most enduring collaborations in transnational education globally, which will see the partnership through to three decades of cooperation. Successful development and implementation of internationalisation strategies at two major Australian universities, drawing on the literature and research into internationalisation frameworks. Stephen has led or participated in international operation reviews at several Australian universities and successfully completed Australian University Quality Agency (AUQA) reviews at La Trobe and Swinburne Universities. Stephen was Academic Director of RMIT's twinning programs at Metropolitan College in Malaysia from 1992 to 1996. A board member of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak and RMIT Vietnam for a combined total of 8 years, he has been involved in education collaborations in countries throughout Asia and more recently in Europe for more than 20 years, an impressive transnational pedigree! Stephen has conducted in-house and industry professional development programs for many years, including for the LH Martin Institute and IEAA (Executive Leadership and Management in International Education), Community Colleges for International Development (Summer Institute), and the Australian International Education Conference (pre-conference workshops). |
